A comprehensive energy efficiency project, including a broad range of initiatives, has transformed our Eskilstuna site in Sweden into a sustainable production facility. Watch this video to discover how the improvements reflect our commitment to a sustainable future for everyone, contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
With more than 300 people employed at Eskilstuna, our main production site for cylinders in Scandinavia, the project has focused on making the entire facility sustainable. We have significantly reduced energy consumption by using the Internet of Things for our systems and devices and systems to talk to each other and report their status in real time.
Our new waste management onsite helps us to recycle efficiently and take care of all of our waste responsibly, while a rooftop solar park will generate about 50 percent of the site’s electricity needs.
“We have taken a great step towards a more sustainable production facility, but this is a journey of continuous improvement,” explains Maria Ahlström, Sustainability Health & Safety Manager, Scandinavia. “We routinely analyze data to identify and implement further efficiency opportunities, so that we can perform in line with ASSA ABLOY’s commitment to the Science Based Targets.”
