General Manager - IWS
The General Manager provides leadership, motivation and guidance to plant operations to include manufacturing, logistics, maintenance, manufacturing engineering, material control, purchasing, quality assurance and control, and tooling areas to enhance flexibility and to improve overall costs, quality, and on-time delivery of Company products. Ensure efficient production of parts and products with the best material usage, quality levels, and service that exceed the customer’s expectations. Responsible for ensuring all key measures are met from plant and business operations. Lead and promote matters related to safety, health, environmental, labor control, equipment, material, processes, and customer relations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead, plan, and manage all manufacturing activities and related functions at the plant including manufacturing, logistics, manufacturing engineering, tooling, maintenance, material control, purchasing, quality assurance and control, and tooling to ensure safety and quality and to meet and exceed customer and Company requirements.
- Understand and execute all plant policies and procedures.
- Lead development and management of annual plan, budget, key measures, operating efficiency, and cost control.
- Act as key contact for customers and local industry groups.
- Manage and direct staff in assigned manufacturing group with a focus on equipment, processes, human resource allocation, cost management, setting priorities, removing roadblocks, and leading through problem identification and resolution, and implementation of short- and long-term corrective actions to manufacturing problems.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, operations management, supply chain, or related discipline.
- 10-15 years of relevant functional leadership experience as a manager in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in engineering with a focus on engineering management, design and manufacturing is preferred.
- Practical experience and working knowledge of Basic Equipment Care (BEC) and Preventive Maintenance Optimization (PMO) systems for machinery, tooling, and gauges.
- Practical experience applying Lean principles in a manufacturing environment.
- Practical experience applying Total Quality Production System (TQPS) principles in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications
Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
